Raspberries + biking

So far, I've made good on my promises to myself yesterday.

I had a hectic hectic day at work and of course missed my lunchtime workout. But it was OK because Sarah had emailed me asking if I wanted to run after work. I jumped at the opportunity to have someone hold me accountable. Plus I love running with Sarah.

So we set out right after work and ran 4 miles. It was beautiful!! Plus, I got to show her a trail I just love. You could tell we had both had hectic days and needed the stress relief a bit.

After our run, we went over to Rainbow to grab stuff for dinner.

The only reason this is newsworthy is because I bought the most amazing raspberries there! On sale for $2.99/container and I easily downed half while my chicken was cooking. They were YUM! Yay! Summer berry season is HERE! Don't they look fab?

Then this morning I had a fab idea: why don't I bike to work?

I used to bike pretty frequently when I lived in Northeast, but had yet to take the bike to work since I moved to Uptown. I know that Uptown is where the bikers are, so there had to be a fairly simple way to get downtown, right?

Well there is!

If you head up Bryant Ave (one block from me) you eventually hit something called the "Loring Greenway," which I had no idea existed.

Basically the greenway is just this bridge, but once you cross you're in Loring Park. And you get to go right past the traffic mess that is Lyndale and Hennepin avenues.

Then I crossed through Loring Park. Isn't she beautiful?

Zoom up 2nd Avenue and I was at work! Took me about 20 minutes. Which isn't shorter than my bus ride, but I also didn't have to curse just missing a bus (which I seem to do almost every day) and I didn't have to walk to my office from Hennepin Avenue (a 4 block walk that takes about 10 minutes). So I was at work quicker than normal despite travel time being close to the same.

I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

And tonight I'm going to a Fit Class with Alexa at Lifetime! Will report back tomorrow if I can still move my arms.
