Vegas Wrap Up

Hey all!

I'm back from my long blogging hiatus. I had an absolutely fabulous time in Vegas. Lots of sun (I'm about as tan as I get!) and I even came home up $160! How fab is that??

Here are some choice photos from the trip and a quick rundown.

We took off at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

First, we had to have some drinks to get our trip started right. We were going to Vegas after all....


We spent four full days by the pool. Wonderful. Here are my traveling companions. Cindy (my mom's BFF who I've known my whole life) and my ma.


I met up with my cousin Dani who just graduated from University of Nevada-Las Vegas! She was about to move home to Portland, Oregon for good but stayed in town an extra night to see me. How sweet. We hit up a semi-strip show (American Storm, so fun!) with some of her friends. This was my wildest night out on the town.

Woke up the next morning and hit the hotel's gym. Best news: they gave us fitness passes when we checked in! No fee! Bad news: all of their treadmills were broken. But I did the elliptical and some weight lifting.

Sunday night we went to Old Vegas/Fremont Street. Here is my mom and myself. It was fun!


Then Monday morning was the best part: I woke up at 7 a.m., strapped on my running shoes and ran 10 miles. Yes, you read that right: 10 miles! I didn't take pictures though. Running with a camera is not ideal. But I ran the WHOLE thing. I ran south down the Las Vegas strip to the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and then north to the Stratosphere and back to my hotel. The last mile was HARD and I was TIRED, but I was soooo glad I did it! And it went really fast with all of the scenery. I had read on some running sites that running the strip was really cool, and they were right! Yay! My time was 1:42:15. Still rockin' a 10 minute mile!

I figured after that, I had earned my day at the pool. MMM Palm Trees.

That afternoon I needed a break from the sun, so I headed inside to play blackjack with my birthday present: $50 in casino chips! I sat down at the table and walked away with $140!!! That black chip in my hand (if you can see it) is a $100 chip. Woo hoo!

Then Tuesday we packed and spent the rest of the day by the pool. Our flight didn't leave until 5 p.m. so we still had a whole day of sun infront of us.

I wanted to get a bikini pic to prove that I wore it the whole time! I'm not the skinniest person (obviously) but dang it, I worked hard for this body!
