Tennis Date!

My brother is in town for two weeks. Naturally his schedule is packed with friends and family. Apparently he's one popular dude. But I was lucky enough to fit into his schedule last night. And we played tennis! Hmm must be the heart of the summer if I'm doing multiple tennis posts, huh?

My bro is my number 1 healthy life supporter. Mostly because he's so dang healthy himself. He's always quizzing me on whether or not I've been to the gym and what I'm up to with working out. It's nice he keeps me on my game.

And speaking of games, our game has always been tennis. We were raised by parents who both played tennis, and we grew up taking lessons. Our tradition after our lessons was to stay on the court and play for hours. He's awesome at it and routinely kicks my butt. But it's just so much fun to play with him, I can't stay mad.

So last night I went out to Chanhassen to meet him for some tennis and then we were having dinner with my mom and her bf.

Luckily, there's a tennis court a few blocks from our house.

The Joy of the 'burbs: empty tennis courts! You'd never find this in Uptown! It was just us the whole time. Tres nice.

Playing tennis with Rob was freaking amazing. Every point was a hard fought point. You could tell we were trained to play by the same instructor. And Rob's roommate plays for the UW tennis team, so he's been taught some tricks. But overall I'd say we were matched equally and it was a great game. Many, many long volleys. It was so great. We even chatted while playing. Nice to catch up with him.

Not sure if y'all noticed but it was HOT last night. Like 90 and humid hot. So we only made it one set, but we played for more than an hour and a half. Our games took quite a while as we hit multiple rounds of deuce many times. Multiple times we had to pause because of sweat in our eyes. Ewww, but it kind of felt great.

Oh and sidenote, I did not win against him. He's always been able to beat me at tennis. Bugger.

Then after tennis we had dinner with the fam. An amazing flank steak cooked by my mom bf Jeff. But I forgot to take pictures! And then my mom and I went on a walk around the neighborhood. I kind of love escaping to the 'burbs every now and then.

All in all, excellent night with the fam. Happy I live only a half hour away so I can sneak these in every now and then!
